SHPS to Donate Nursing Services for American Heart Association's 2005 Go Red Heartline
SHPS nurses to field questions on heart disease, the nation’s number-one killer of women

Louisville, Ky. (September 23, 2005) – To help increase public awareness of heart disease, which as the nation’s top killer of women claims the lives of more than 500,000 women a year, SHPS will provide registered nurses and system support for the American Heart Association’s (AHA) inaugural “Go Red HeartLine.”
The 2005 Go Red HeartLine (1-877-Go-Red-05) is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in each time zone on Saturday for nationwide callers to speak free-of-charge to a registered nurse about heart disease, risk factors and prevention strategies. SHPS is supporting the AHA in their goal to empower women with the knowledge and tools they need to make positive lifestyle changes that will help reduce their risk of heart disease.
SHPS’ registered nurses will provide the counseling services through its call centers in Louisville, Ky. and Seattle.
“As a leading provider of healthcare management services, SHPS has offered nurseline advice to employers and health plans for years,” said Keith Stoneback, SHPS’ corporate vice president, president, healthcare services. “We’re honored to be able to lend our associates, our expertise and technology to this worthwhile cause. Women who call the Go Red HeartLine can be confident they’ll receive sound and confidential advice from SHPS’ highly-trained clinical staff.”
The 2005 Go Red HeartLine is among the many AHA events this year in its national “Go Red for Women” initiative, which began in February 2004, to raise awareness of heart disease.
