SHPS CEO Rishabh Mehrotra addresses Second National Medicaid Congress
Presentation: Friday, June 15, 2007, 12 p.m. EDT

Louisville, Ky. (June 6, 2007) – SHPS, a leading provider of health advocacy and health benefits solutions, announced today that Rishabh Mehrotra, president and CEO, will be a guest speaker at the Second National Medicaid Congress, June 13-15, 2007, Renaissance Hotel, Washington, D.C. (www.medicaidcongress.com). Mehrotra’s presentation will propose solutions for transforming Medicaid through the application of four key principles: aligning structure and incentives, promoting social advancement, managing health and financial risks, and providing integrated delivery.
The presentation will offer practical recommendations for the application of these principles, including a strong focus on the development of health metrics – such as a Medicaid Health Index – to design, measure and continuously refine state programs.
Complimentary copies of Making Medicaid Work: A Practical Guide for Transforming Medicaid, co-authored by Mehrotra and Newt Gingrich, founder of the Center for Health Transformation, will be available to all session attendees. The book calls for greater healthcare consumerism and care coordination, as well as the adoption of electronic health records, health risk scores and other 21st century technologies. Electronic and hard copies of the book are now available by registering at www.shps.com/medicaid.
Mehrotra’s presentation will take place during the session entitled “Innovations and Opportunities to Manage Chronic Disease.”
