Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula Chooses Landacorp's Maxsys II Medical Management Software

Louisville, Ky. (June 21, 2007) – Landacorp, a SHPS company, today announced an agreement with Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula of Monterey, Calif. to implement Landacorp’s Maxsys II™ medical management software. The hospital will utilize the Maxsys II module for risk management, the report writer tool kit, as well as eM2™, Landacorp’s web portal to Maxsys II that includes the intranet-based online risk incident report form.

“We’re pleased to welcome Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula to the Landacorp family,” said Jay Dunlap, general manager and vice president, operations and technology for Landacorp. “With its flexibility and ease of use, Maxsys II’s risk management module will provide the hospital the ability to identify, evaluate and correct potential risks — providing them an excellent opportunity to prevent and control losses. In addition, by using eM2, a person at the facility can report risk incidents from any web browser. It makes for a safer, more efficient and more effective healthcare environment for patients, staff, visitors and the organization in general.”

Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, founded in 1934, is a nonprofit, integrated healthcare provider delivering a continuum of care from birth to end of life, and every stage in between. It is dedicated to identifying and meeting the changing healthcare needs of the people of the Monterey Peninsula and surrounding communities.

“We look forward to utilizing the Maxsys II risk management module and the eM2 web portal. We anticipate that the product will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our risk management department,” said Community Hospital vice president Tim Nylen.

Maxsys II is a medical management software product used by healthcare providers to deliver up-to-date, accurate patient demographic records. It monitors each department’s actions in real-time and attaches all relevant episode information to the patient, so staff members have the most current patient information available at all times for reporting and analysis. Administrative staff, medical staff, nurses and physicians use Maxsys II in support of care, utilization, quality and risk management programs, process improvement initiatives and provider credentialing processes. With modules that can be licensed individually or together, Maxsys II can evolve and expand to support ever-changing customer needs.
