With the new service SHPS can accept claims data from health insurance carriers in any format, including real-time or batch, for spending account validation and its other healthcare service offerings.

The new integration service eliminates a key challenge for health insurance carriers burdened with legacy systems that are unable to easily accommodate requests from clients for custom data exports. Carriers can now provide SHPS data using their standard export file formats, resulting in expedited data exchange and reduced costs for SHPS large employer clients.

Health insurance carriers often have limitations with custom data transmission due to legacy systems that prevent effective use of claim information, said Rishabh Mehrotra, president of SHPS. Through its state-of-the-art capabilities, SHPS eliminates this obstacle and improves service levels and lowers costs for clients and their employees. SHPS uses individual health claim information throughout its entire suite of consumer-driven healthcare products and can accept one data feed for use across its entire spectrum of products.
