SHPS convenes clinical advisory board to support innovation and enhance consumer healthcare experience

Louisville, Ky. (March 27, 2007) – SHPS, a leading provider of health advocacy and health benefit solutions, announced today the formation of the SHPS Clinical Advisory Board. The Board’s mission is to provide SHPS with guidance on its corporate and clinical strategy, as well as its solutions for each of the company’s six market segments. The Board will help SHPS leverage its health advocacy programs to deliver best-in-class solutions that help consumers better navigate the nation’s healthcare system.
The SHPS Clinical Advisory Board, which will meet quarterly, consists of six members, all of whom are exceptionally qualified based on their experience in healthcare and corporate strategy. The individuals’ backgrounds range from academia to the public- and private-sector. Appointments to the Board include:
- Guy D’Andrea, MBA, president, Discern Consulting;
- John Little, MD, chief medical officer, Blue Cross Blue Shield South Carolina;
- Jeremy Nobel, MD, MPH, Harvard School of Public Health;
- Josh Seidman, PhD, president, Center for Information Therapy;
- Vic Strecher, PhD, founder, chief science officer, chairman of the board, HealthMedia, Inc., and professor, University of Michigan; and
- William Yasnoff, MD, PhD, founder, National Health Information Infrastructure Advisors.

The Board will provide feedback and recommendations to SHPS on the following items:

- Innovative approaches to information technology that will drive behavioral change and improve consumers’ overall healthcare experience;
- Research initiatives that leverage SHPS’ data assets, advanced analytical capabilities and health management platforms; and
- Partnerships that will complement SHPS’ portfolio.
The inaugural meeting of the SHPS Clinical Advisory Board was held on March 9th at the company’s Atlanta office.
