SHPS introduces suite of integrated care management solutions exclusively for third party administrators

Louisville, Ky. (March 1, 2007) – SHPS, a leading provider of health advocacy and health benefit solutions, announced today its new suite of integrated care management solutions designed exclusively for third party administrator (TPA) clients. The solution, which consists of utilization management, disease management and case management services united within a single delivery platform, offers TPAs an effective tool for managing their clients’ healthcare cost trends.
By incorporating an integrated care management solution into their product portfolio, TPAs can provide value far exceeding transaction processing and take a leadership position in the bourgeoning healthcare consumerism marketplace.
SHPS’ integrated care management suite improves the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery through a holistic clinical system that manages the member across the entire care continuum. Members can move between programs fluidly and seamlessly, which is essential to lowering costs and achieving desired clinical outcomes.
Beech Street, a subsidiary of Concentra Network Services (CNS), recently announced an agreement to expand its healthcare management service offering by implementing SHPS’ integrated care management solutions. It will be among the first to provide the new system to clients. Beech Street currently provides healthcare management services to more than a million people in the United States.
“SHPS’ capabilities and vision align with our long term strategy and commitment to provide quality and value to our clients and their members,” commented Kurt Anderson, CNS’ group health president. “We continually strive for improved performance through innovation and service excellence and are pleased to team with SHPS to deliver these enhanced services to our clients, ultimately promoting better health and lowering overall healthcare costs.”
Working with SHPS provides TPAs several advantages over building their own care management infrastructure, including the ability to offer a best-in-class solution right out of the box, and minimization, if not elimination, of capital investment and IT risk. In addition, all of SHPS’ care management programs are URAC-accredited, a symbol of excellence in healthcare quality.
”We are pleased to offer our new integrated care management solution to the TPA market,” said Jeff Rosenblum, SHPS’ executive vice president, channel solutions. “Care management is a critical component in any company’s healthcare consumerism strategy, and our solution better positions TPAs to become strategic healthcare advisors. We look forward to partnering with Beech Street, as well as other TPAs, to drive their continued success.”
