SHPS Experts to Present Employer Perspectives, Methods for Measuring Disease Management Results
Interviews available at 2005 Disease Management Leadership Forum Oct. 16-17

Louisville, Ky. (October 14, 2005) – Two executives from SHPS, a leading provider of disease management services based in Louisville, Ky., will present at the 7th Annual Disease Management Leadership Forum next week in San Diego.

Chris Ryan, vice president, market strategy and research, SHPS, will team with Karen Fitzner, director of research, Disease Management Association of America, to present, “What Outcomes Matter in the Workplace – the Employer Perspective?” Ryan and Fitzner will unveil their latest opinion research of large and mid-sized employers on disease management tactics. Their session is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 16 from 3:10 p.m. – 4:10 p.m. (PST) at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in Harbor Island Ballroom III.

Also, Jim Dolstad, vice president, actuarial services, reporting and analysis, SHPS will join Seth Serxner, principal and senior consultant from Mercer Health & Benefits, to present a case study, “Validating the Financial Impact of Health Management Programs: Theory and Practice.” Mercer Health & Benefits’ specialty group, Health and Productivity Management, provides leading-edge consulting in this area. Dolstad and Serxner will discuss how to measure the financial impact of health management programs and achieve return on investment through healthcare strategy. Their session is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 17 from 2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. (PST) in Nautilus Room I.
