As executive vice president, chief financial officer, John W. McCarty is responsible for strategic financial oversight and financial management of SHPS. He brings more than 20 years of financial and executive management experience in healthcare to the position.

Prior to joining SHPS, Mr. McCarty was executive vice president and chief financial officer of LabOne, Inc. which provides insurance laboratory testing, insurance policy administration, underwriting services, and clinical and toxicology laboratory testing. While there, he significantly increased revenue growth through a vertical integration of risk assessment services for the life insurance industry and oversaw acquisitions of clinical and toxicology laboratory operations.

Before his tenure at LabOne, Mr. McCarty held several executive management and financial positions with noted healthcare companies. These positions included senior vice president and chief financial officer for eai Healthcare Solutions, Inc., senior vice president and chief financial officer for United Dental Care, executive vice president and chief financial officer for NovaMed, Inc., assistant vice president of corporate finance for Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation, and vice president for Columbia Capital Corporation.

Mr. McCarty is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
