JC Gibson
Executive Vice President Human Resources

As executive vice president, human resources, JC Gibson directs human resources activities across all of SHPS’ business units and office locations, and ensures SHPS maintains compliance with all applicable employment laws in each state of operation. Mr. Gibson is responsible for building a human resources strategy that is consistent with SHPS’ leadership position in the health advocacy and healthcare consumerism market. He is also responsible for creating a supportive environment in which all SHPS associates thrive and are put in a position to succeed; thus maximizing client and participant satisfaction with SHPS programs and services. He brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to his position, having implemented comprehensive human resources programs at organizations with populations in North America, Europe and Asia.

Prior to joining SHPS in 2007, Mr. Gibson was global director, human resources with Ferro Corporation, a $2 billion chemical and specialty products company. He also served as a senior vice president, human resources with MedE America, a healthcare company specializing in electronic transmission of claims between service providers and claims payors. MedE America, a Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe portfolio company, merged with three other companies to form WebMD where Mr. Gibson was vice president and directed human resources activities related to mergers, acquisitions and integrations.

Mr. Gibson is a graduate of Kent State University and holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. He also holds a master of science degree in organization development and analysis from the Weatherhead School of Business at Case Western Reserve University. He has been a visiting professor for graduate and undergraduate programs in business psychology, organization development and human resources practices at Cleveland State University and John Carroll University.
